Poerdlebee: May 31–Timed #1

Good Morning, to anyone who stumbles upon this! As promised, this is yesterday’s “Poerdlebee”– my first timed attempt. The positive about timing? It gets done quickly. The effort to move fast maybe makes it better exercise, who knows? It certainly doesn’t make for better poems, haha! This one took 29 minutes. I tried one today, and it took 34 minutes–mainly because the Wordle took me all 6 tries. The poem was–well, doggerel! To be sure, I am not attempting any grand poetry with this-just getting the old brain to start writing again. I may not always do the timed versions, though!

By the way, I am sitting outside on this fine Spring morning, and two small wood peckers are tapping away at the ash tree, 15 feet away. The poor tree suffered some real damage from the cicadas of two years ago. Half of it is dead and needs to be removed. The wood peckers and the other birds that fill my yard are sweet companions as I type, though! The woodpeckers got their fill and flew away and now a Mountain Bluebird couple is sitting on a branch looking down at me. Oops, now they’re gone, too. So this day goes!
